Nelson Activities

Nelson and the surrounding Kootenays are full of endless activities, whether you are just visiting Nelson or are lucky enough to call this incredible area home.

• Check out local trails for hiking, biking or trail running. Take a look at some of our amazing local races and my favourite trails to run.

• Hike Pulpit Rock or Lyons Bluff for a short hike with rewarding views of Nelson.

• Disc Golf

• Mountain Bike at any of the amazing locations surrounding Nelson, Castlegar and Rossland

• Visit Kokanee Glacier Park, Valhalla Provincial Park or Kokanee Creek Provincial Park

• Ski or Snowboard at Whitewater Resort or Nordic Ski.

• Swim and/or paddle on Kootenay Lake or Slocan Lake.

• There is a variety of fishing depending on the time of year.

• Wander and shop on Historic Baker Street while trying one of the delicious restaurants or cafes.

• Take a scenic drive. The views are endless in the Kootenays.

• Learn to sail with Sail Nelson.
